West Branch Township is a civil township of Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,648 at the 2000 census. The area consists of 35.7 square miles, approximately 35.5 of those square miles are land and 128 acres of water.

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,623 people, 585 households, and 358 families residing in the township.
The population included 800 females and 823 males.

In the township the population was spread out with 43.5% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.46% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the township was $32,969, and the median income for a family was $39,000. The per capita income for the township was $19,588. About 30.2% of families and 36.46% of the population were below the poverty line.
